It was a long, nerve costing, voyage from Freiburg to the waterfalls. There was a huge traffic jam in Gerardmer because the locals there seem to have a tradition of Palm sunday parades (theres flowers everywhere (all yellow) and even statues out of flowers (if you find them beautiful or not is a matter of taste)). With all them cars and buses there it would be good idea to avoid the streets of Gerardmer during the time of this mega event (sunday before easter).
We reached the parking lot at dawn and found the cache with the last second of sunlight. GPS Signal was low at the site of the cache so we finally used the picture to match the trees with the surroundings. The hint would be useful if there weren't so many of these objects, described in the hint. So our hint is to take a (good) copy of the pictures to find the cache.
The cache is in very good state, dry on the inside and not even dirty on the outside. Good that the team hiding didn't make a patent on the plastik pipe concept. It seems to be a cheap and long lasting type of cache.
We took out some of the key rings and insertet a travel guide 'black forest' (in german) and a scouts scarf-ring (don't try to take out the book through the screw cap ... there's more than on way to open this cache ... even though taking of the site caps didn't work).
The surroundings of the waterfall are very rough and beautiful. There's a lot of moss and stones (take good shoes, sandals definitely won't do).
Thanks for the cache!
